Nancy Murray-Peters

It was with sadness that we learnt of Revd Nancy’s
death last Saturday in St Richard’s Hospice.
She will be greatly missed by us in the Benefice.
Revd Sarah Dangerfield wrote:

Nancy has been a friend to many over a long time. She
has been a great encourager, comforter and teacher,
and has brought fun and laughter wherever she has
been. A true disciple of Christ who has answered God’s
call to serve wherever God has called her to go.
A Service of Thanksgiving for Revd Nancy will be held
on Monday 23 October at 1.00pm in the church of St

John the Baptist, Fladbury.
Almighty and eternal God,
from whose love in Christ we cannot be parted,

either by death or life:
hear our prayers and thanksgivings
for all whom we remember this day;
fulfil in them the purpose of your love;
and bring us all, with them, to your eternal joy;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

News from Rev Claire……..
Tim and I are moving into the Rectory in Peopleton

on 26 th October.

Not having moved for over 30 years - apart
from when we had our fire (when we then
didn’t have anything to move!) we are finding things

a bit hectic.

We are waiting for the agents to complete some
garden tidying so we cannot do much at present,
But, when they have finished, it is likely that we will
need to do more to get things under control and

ready for the winter.

We have had a lot of offers of help and we are very

grateful indeed for these.
We are hoping to make a start on the garden,
front and back, the weekend of 13/14/15 October.
If anyone would like to join us (please bring your own
tools and I would suggest wellies), we would be very
grateful and very pleased to see you.
We will make sure there are refreshments!
The house is also waiting to be cleaned by the
agents but again, we will also want to do it
ourselves, so any help inside the Rectory would also

be appreciated.

We are very excited by the thought of our new home
but also a little daunted about the move. We would
love some help but please there is no pressure at all –
we know how busy everyone is – but there will be

CAKE!
All Souls’ Day

A Commemoration of the Faithful Departed
A short service with hymns, readings, prayer and an
opportunity to light a candle in memory of your loved
one will be held at 7.00pm on 2 November at White

Ladies Aston.

Revd Claire and St John the Baptist Church are looking
forward to welcoming you to this special service
during the season of All Souls.
If you would like to add a name to those to be
remembered during the service please contact:

Remembering the loss of a loved one
May you see God's light on the path ahead
When the road you walk is dark.
May you always hear,
Even in your hour of sorrow,
The gentle singing of the lark.
When times are hard may hardness
Never turn your heart to stone,
May you always remember
when the shadows fall,
You do not walk alone.
