Second Sunday of Easter

On the first day of the week the disciples went to the
tomb, and they found the stone rolled away from the

tomb. Alleluia!

Collect
Almighty Father,

you have given your only Son to die for our sins
and to rise again for our justification:
grant us so to put away the leaven of malice

and wickedness
that we may always serve you
in pureness of living and truth;

through the merits of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Bill Jones

It is with sadness we report the death of Bill Jones

We send our love and kind thoughts to Caroline and

the rest of the family.

Revd Claire writes:

How lovely to have flowers back in our churches again
after Lent. Thank you to all who make our beautiful
buildings look so wonderful year after year.
It is APCM time again! Revd Claire writes:
It’s the time of year when we have our Annual Church
meetings which are open to all.
St Kenelm, Upton Snodsbury’s meeting was last week
and St John the Baptist, White Ladies Aston’s is this
coming Tuesday. St Nicholas, Peopleton’s is on 27
April. Please do go along – you might be pleasantly
surprised and want to join in!
Prayers for Today
O Father, give us the humility which
Realizes its ignorance,
Admits its mistakes,
Recognizes its need,
Welcome advice,
Accept rebuke. Amen.
Help us always
To praise rather than to criticise,
To sympathize rather than to condemn.
To encourage rather than to discourage,
To build rather than to destroy,
And to think of people at their best rather than at

their worst.

This we ask for thy name’s sake. Amen.
(William Barclay 1907-1978)
Bless our beautiful land O Lord,
With its wonderful variety of people,
of races, culture and languages.
May we be a nation
of laughter and joy,
of justice and reconciliation,
of peace and unity,
of compassion, caring and sharing.
We pray this prayer for a true patriotism,
in the powerful name of Jesus our Lord. Amen.
