Thank yous

A thank you to everyone who contributed to the
Coffee Morning held in The Parish Room on 1 April to
raise funds for the victims of the Syria and Turkey
earthquakes. The final figure will be over £300.
A big thank you to everyone who has worked to
get our churches ready for the Easter celebrations.
Thank you to those who have cleaned and dusted,
tidied our churchyards, arranged wonderful flower
displays and maybe hidden a few Easter eggs!

An Easter Message

I’d like to wish everyone across our parishes a very
Happy Easter.  May the glory and the promise of this
joyous time of year bring peace and happiness to you
and those you hold most dear. And may Christ, Our
Risen Saviour, always be there by your side to bless
you most abundantly and be your loving guide.

Prayers for Easter Day
Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!
Christ yesterday and today, the beginning and the

end, Alpha and Omega.
All time belongs to him, and all ages.
To him be glory and power, through every age and

for ever. Amen.
God our Father,
by raising Christ your Son
you conquered the power of death
and opened for us the way to eternal life.
Let our service today raise us up
and renew our lives by the Spirit that is within us.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one

God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Thoughts for the day

At Easter, poignant memories of friends and family,
who have died particularly return. We miss them but
thank them for all their love and guidance, for
memories happy and significant and for all they have

meant to us.

Let us remember Christians who cannot celebrate
openly today because they live in parts of the world
where there are repressive, intolerant and brutal

regimes.

For festive family get-togethers, meals enjoyed and
laughter shared we thank you.
For the beauty and wonderful sounds of our Easter
countryside – nature at its most joyous and hopeful.

How lucky we are!
