3 rd Sunday of Epiphany - Collect

Almighty God,

whose Son revealed in signs and miracles
the wonder of your saving presence:
renew your people with your heavenly grace,

and in all our weakness
sustain us by your mighty power;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

All are welcome to Café Church
this Sunday at 11am in Peopleton for a short, relaxing
gathering where croissant and hot drinks will be
served. A time to eat, sing and learn together. A time
open to everyone to bring along friends, younger
family members and neighbours who perhaps don’t
normally join us for regular services but
who would enjoy time together.

A seed of faith grows in a garden of hope.
We are at the end of the week for Christin Unity
and at the beginning of an even more uncertain four
years of international politics with all the changes the
USA is already bringing and will continue to bring.
As individuals we have very little say in anything.
All we can do is our best in our own communities and
hope and pray for our broken world.
Barrier-breaking God,
you embrace all cultures and lands,
but keep a special place in your heart
for the stranger,
the widow and the orphan.
Grant us the gift of your Spirit
that we may become as You are,
welcoming all as brothers and sisters,
your cherished children.
Citizens together in Christ’s kingdom of
justice and peace. Amen.
A Prayer from Pope Francis
Almighty God, you sent your Son Jesus Christ
to reconcile the world to yourself.
We praise you because through your Gospel,
in all parts of the earth

a community of love has been gathered together
and that in every place your servants call upon

your name.

May your Spirit awaken in every community
a hunger and thirst for unity. Amen.
(contained in his published writings of 2013).
Annual Parochial Church Meetings
It is getting towards that time again – a time when the
dates of the Annual Church Meetings will soon be
advertised and members of our congregations will be
encouraged to come forward to serve on the
Parochial Church Councils.

This year too is the year (every sixth year) when new
electoral rolls are required to be drawn up with all the
extra work and effort that involves.
Now maybe is the time to ask whether you would like

to get more involved?
would you like to do more?
would you like to have a say in how the church

operates?
would you like a new challenge?
If the answer is yes why not talk now to one of the
Church Wardens to see what is involved?
Take the plunge – you may enjoy it and find it a

fulfilling experience!

Open the curtains and let a new day begin!

Because with the new day comes
new strength and new thoughts.
