Today is the 2 nd Sunday of Easter generally known as
‘Low Sunday’ when Parish Priests traditionally take a

Sunday’s Holiday!

We are very pleased once again to welcome to
Peopleton this morning Revd Alma Organ.
Please do stay and say hello after the service.

A message from Revd Claire

Our Benefice enjoyed a wide range of services over
the Easter period which were well-attended.
Thank you to our flower arrangers, to those who
provided refreshments and to all who gave their time
and energy to make each of our churches so

welcoming.

Thanks also to Rev Alma and to Delia Harding for the
worshipping opportunities they provided.
God works in mysterious ways, and I can’t miss this
chance to give my heartfelt thanks to all who gave
such practical help and support to the couple who
needed it so much in Peopleton on Easter Day.

This week in the Benefice

3 annual church meetings are being held this week in
Broughton Hackett, Upton Snodsbury and White
Ladies Aston. Please do go along to show support for
those who do so much for our churches and, if you
feel that you would like to do more – now would be

the time to volunteer!

Next Saturday in The Parish Room, White Ladies
Aston, there will be an evening of entertainment
called April Showers - based on themes of rain and
Spring and raising some funds for Water Aid. Tickets
are £10 to include a ploughman’s supper and desserts.
Please book ahead with Margaret Haywood (01905
355371 or [email protected]).
Thoughts and Prayers

Prayer can be a place where we calm the head noise,
stop the frenetic activity of our lives, see our world in
a new and wonderful light and find peace for a few

moments.

Prayers when we are in despair for the world
O God, compassionate and merciful,
where your children tear each other apart,

you are also torn.
Full of confusion, longing for peace,
we bring you our violent world,
a world we don’t understand
with ideologies and convictions we cannot grasp.
Where the poorest, the vulnerable and the
innocent pay the price of powerful hatreds.
In this time of need, open our hearts and minds to
your will and show us how to pray. Amen.
O God it is your will to hold both heaven and earth

in a single peace.

Let the design of your great love shine on the waste of
our wraths and sorrows and give peace to your
church, peace amongst nations, peace in our homes
and peace in our hearts. Amen.
