A big thank you to everyone who has helped get our
churches ready for our Easter celebrations. Thank you
to those who have cleaned and dusted, tidied our
churchyards, arranged wonderful flower displays,
prepared Hot Cross Buns and hidden Easter eggs!

Message from Revd Claire

We are now in Passiontide, the most moving week in

the Christian calendar.

A time of mourning that Jesus would suffer agony for
us, yet also knowing the immediate joy of his

resurrection.

I hope to see you at one of our church services as we
acknowledge that Jesus is the reason for the season!
I wish you all a blessed and joy-filled Easter.
Prayers and thoughts for Easter Day
On the first day of the week the disciples went to the
tomb, and they found the stone rolled away from the

tomb. Alleluia!
Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!
Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!
Who did once upon the cross, Alleluia!
Suffer to redeem our loss. Alleluia!
Christ yesterday and today, the beginning and the

end, Alpha and Omega.
All time belongs to him, and all ages.
To him be glory and power, through every age and

for ever. Amen.
God our Father,
by raising Christ your Son
you conquered the power of death
and opened for us the way to eternal life.
Let our service today raise us up
and renew our lives by the Spirit that is within us.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Lord, the resurrection of Your Son
has given us new life and renewed hope.
Help us to live as new people
in pursuit of the Christian ideal.
Grant us wisdom to know what we must do,
the will to want to do it,
the courage to undertake it,
the perseverance to continue to do it,
and the strength to complete it. Amen.
At Easter, poignant memories of friends and
family, who have died come flooding back.
We miss them but thank them for all their love
and guidance, and for all they have meant to us.
For Christians who cannot celebrate openly
today because they live under repressive,
intolerant and brutal regimes.
For family get-togethers, meals enjoyed and

laughter shared.

For the beauty and wonderful sounds of our Easter
countryside – nature at its most joyous and hopeful.
