Second Sunday of Epiphany

Collect
Almighty God,
in Christ you make all things new:
transform the poverty of our nature
by the riches of your grace,
and in the renewal of our lives
make known your heavenly glory;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen.

………Not too late for this I hope!
Today we look to a new morrow
War, peace, hope to end the sorrow
Drink a cup of kindness yet
Pray with our Lord, a sign, he left.
As you may shed a tear
Praise and thanks - “A New Year”!
Thoughts and memories, special times
HAPPY NEW YEAR – let the bells chime!

(Karolyn)

Looking ahead a little, 14 February is not only St
Valentine’s Day BUT it is also Ash Wednesday
heralding the start of the season of Lent and the
Christian progress towards Easter.
In preparation for the celebration of Easter, Revd
Claire will be leading a study course during Lent.
Claire writes: ……Join us for our 6 weeks course
following a book by Paula Gooder called The Joy of the
Gospel. We will be looking at how we can share our
faith and apply what we learn to our own contexts in

this modern world.

The evenings are informal and a good opportunity to

learn from others.

The book is available from Amazon at £7.99 for a new
hard copy, £3.59 for a second-hand copy or £7.50 for a

Kindle version.

Our first get-together will be Tuesday 20 February at
7.00pm in The Rectory and the meetings will then
continue on a weekly basis until 26 March – the

Tuesday of Holy Week.

Offers to host the group in homes across the benefice
will be very welcome. Please do put the dates in your
diary and come along even if you can’t commit to all

the evenings!
