Welcome to the page for St Bartholomew's, Lower Sapey (Harpley) which is part of the Worcestershire West Rural Team. Our Team Vicar is Revd Anne Potter and her details can be found below.
St Bartholomew's Church is at the centre of the hamlet of Harpley. It was built in 1877 to replace the derelict Old St Bartholomew's, mentioned in the Doomsday Book, in Lower Sapey. It has the font from Old St Bartholomew's which is early Norman. The East window, put in in 1920, of the nativity scene, is fairly unique with the wise people being 2 men and 1 woman - quite forward thinking for 100 years ago! It has a beautiful churchyard with specimen trees as old as th church.
The parish of Lower Sapey is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Worcester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
