United Mothering Sunday Service followed by a share meal

Our "Mother's day" family friendly service is united at the Methodist Church, a little shorter than normal to accomodate any children present. We follow this with a "bring and share " meal, and this year we are especially inviting any in our community who cannot be with their Mum's or families, for any reason, so we can enjoy a meal together as a church family. All are very welcome. Oh, and don't forget, the clocks go forward!

Our weekly ecumenical prayer meeting when we meet to pray for our community, the world and the churches mission is open to all to attend. We use the Methodist Prayer Handbook as a guide. Occasionally this will be at alternative venues, usually announced in our services.

Praise Group, an ecumenical time of fellowship and worship is held at Hazel Fry's house, Tanquerels, the last house before you turn down to the Mermaid, coming from la Collinette). 6.30 if you're coming to the fellowship meal first, then praise, chat and whatever else comes from 7.30.

A fun time for our little ones to play together and time to chat and relax for parents and carers. New time so that parents/carers can go straight from dropping older children at school.There are plenty of toys available, comfy sofas and coffee, everyone welcome. Our Minister often drops by to say helllo .

Methodist Communion Service

Our monthly communion service at the Methodist Church, in Methodist tradition, may be from the standard Methodist liturgy ( The Worship Book) or may be a less formal, more intimate service, this varies from month to month. It is usually led by our Island Minister, David. All are welcome at the Lord's table and to join us for coffee after the service.

United Palm Sunday Service

We celebrate Palm Sunday as a United service, last year was at the Methodist Church, so this year is at St Peter's. We will gather at the methodist Church with Sark's Donkeys at 10.30 am for a procession down to St Peter's and service at 11.15. This service marks the beginning of Holy Week. Do come along to our other services leading up to Easter Day.

Maundy Thursday reflective Communion

We share readings, poetry, prayer and a simple communion as we remember Jesus' last night with his disciples. This meditative service, shared around a large table in the Sanctuary Centre allows some quiet reflection before Good Friday. All are very welcome.

Our morning Good Friday Service is a short, quieter service when we remember the events of Good Friday and give thanks for Christ's sacrifice of love for humankind. We are beginning at 9.30 this year, rather than the usual 10 am, in order to make it easier for people to join the traditional Good Friday community gathering at "The Duck pond"

We hold our traditional Good Friday Vigil at St Peter's Church, from 2 pm leading up to the traditional time of Jesus' death at 3 pm. This is a quieter, traditional service with music, prayer and silent meditation, all are very welcome.

Easter Day Sunrise Service

Our very popular Sunrise service will begin at 7 am this year at La Collinette ( where the carriages park), followed by an Easter Breakfast at Hazel's house ( "Tanquerels") and then a United Easter Day service at St Peter's. All are very welcome to this atmospheric service,( and breakfast) celebrating that Christ is Risen as the sun rises. Communion will be shared in this service.

We follow our Sunrise Service and Easter breakfast with a united celebration of Easter Day at St Peter's. The church will be adorned with spring decorations symbolising the new life we find in the resurrected Christ. Come and join this joyful celebration as we praise and worship the Risen King.

Our second Sunday services at Chapel are often led by our Local Preacher, Lorraine, all other services by our Island Minister David. All are welcome and we serve coffee after the service.

Service for the 80th Anniversary of Liberation

As Sark celebrates the 80th anniversary of its liberation this weekend, we shall hold a special service at St Peter's for the island community and the special visitors who will be present on the Sunday. This will immediately follow the Calvacade on the day, so many will be dressed appropriately in 40's clothing and the Sark British Legion will also parade and present standards. All are very welcome- it is likely to be a very busy service and we plan to have an augmented choir and music to both celebrate and remember.
