St Peter's Church, Sark and Sark Methodist Church
There are two churches on beautiful island of Sark in the Channel Islands, one Church of England, one Methodist. St Peter's is the parish church, is part of the Deanery of Guernsey, and is part of an ecumenical partnership with the Methodist Church in Sark. The Revd. David Stolton, the Methodist presbyter, is the resident minister in Sark, and authorised to lead services at St Peter's Church, as well as at the Methodist Church, and has an active role in caring for all the island's community, as well as welcoming visitors. All are very welcome and we especially welcome visitors to Sark to our services. Most Sunday's the service at St Peter's is at 11.15 a.m., but on the second Sunday of the month we join with our Methodist friends at Chapel at 11.15.m and enjoy a shared meal after the service. The Methodist service otherwise is at 9.30 a.m., and on the third Sunday of the month this is a more informal "Breakfast Church" with a video and discussion time. Both churches are also open every day for quiet prayer or to light a candle. The Methodist Chapel has the Sanctuary Centre behind the church which acts as a church hall and community facility from which much church community work happens, and is also available for small conferences and retreats. Enquiries for hire, retreats or conferences can be made to the minister.
We welcome all those who would like to be married or have their children Baptised or Christened at either church. Marriages may take place in either church or at any venue on the beautiful island ( with permission) including the small chapel at la Seigneurie. Revd. Stolton is delighted to offer same-sex marriages in the Methodist Church or elsewhere on island. We are an inclusive church and welcome all enquiries, which should, in the first instance be made to Revd. Stolton.
The Dean of Guernsey, the Very Revd. Tim Barker, is also the priest in charge of Sark, Revd. Howard Stringer is our Methodist Superintendent, both periodically visit the island.

Nurturing our community with God's love and hope is our intent. We welcome all at St.John's whether you are new to the Island or have moved into our parish, or have just popped in for a visit. Maybe you haven't tried church for a while-just come.
Our services are accessible, large print versions are available. Holy Communion is our norm weekly but on occasion we have a service of the Word.
Children's work is in the vestry during the services for those who prefer craft to sermons! The All age service on the first Sunday of the month is shorter and aims to involve our younger members. We have refreshments after the service.

St Philippe de Torteval
Torteval is the smallest of the Island's parishes but has an enthusiastic congregation with varied styles of worship to suit all ages. We have a pastoral team which keeps in touch with those unable to worship in church.
We have a youth choir led by a professional musician. Other work with young people is done in conjunction with Torteval Methodist Church and with whom we hold regular services. The two churches run jointly a monthly after-school club and a holiday club.
We pray that all who worship with us will be brought closer to Jesus and gain a deepening trust in His love and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
