Here at St Francis' Church, Valley Park, we're a wonderfully diverse church family who love to worship Jesus and eat cake together. There's lots happening from our Sunday services in differing styles - formal communion to Messy church, morning worship in person and Zoom to informal worship and prayer where we look to encounter God together. And there's a group for all ages too: we have creche, junior church and youth meetings. Technically, we're an ecumenical partnership of the Anglican, Methodist and United Reformed Churches - in practice we're made up of even more denominations!
We seek to be a blessing to each other and to our surrounding community, through our cafe that runs twice a week, to our work with our local school and GP surgery to whom we offer a chaplaincy service for all faiths and none, our local care home we we share communion each month and of course The Cleveland Bay pub next door - a great meeting venue and brilliant for carol singing each year!
St Francis's Church, Valley Park is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults.
We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Winchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
