At 10:45 there will be a Palm Procession, followed by a Palm Sunday service of Holy Communion at 11:00 at St Mary the Virgin, Micheldever, which will be led by Rt Rev'd Philip Mounstephen (Bishop of Winchester), Rev'd Dr Robert Rees (Benefice Rector) and the Ministry Team. This is a Dever Benefice event and everyone is warmly invited to attend.
We now have updated information as to how the morning will unfold, which is as follows:
Those who are happy to join the procession and who will be arriving from this side of Micheldever - South Wonston, Hunton & Stoke Charity - should congregate outside the Old Vicarage in Micheldever at 10:45. This is the first house on the right as you approach Micheldever from the back road, Sloe Lane. Ruth Guy will be there to meet participants with palm crosses and service booklets.
Two other groups, including a children’s choir, will approach the church from a different direction, and the service will start at 11:00.
It is stressed that if anyone, for any reason, doesn’t want to take part in the procession, they can go straight into the church, where there will be sidesmen to greet them. Similarly, in the hopefully unlikely event of wet weather, please go straight into the church.
