"I just wanted to remind you of the Service of Ashing with Holy Communion at St Margaret’s, South Wonston.
We are entering the season of Lent – a time of prayer, reflection and sacrifice. We do this to walk with Jesus in the wilderness, continually seeking ways to reconcile ourselves to God and to live in a right relationship with Him.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of that journey and as we are ashed, outwardly marked with the sign of the cross of repentance, we come together in grace to hear and receive God’s Holy Word and to gather around the Lord’s table.
The invitation to this service (if an invitation needs to be given) is to the whole Benefice. It would be great to see you all there too."
