Following the retirement of Rev'd Dr John Rennie, the church entered an extended period of Interregnum (or vacancy). However, we have recently been advised that the Bishop and Churchwardens of The Dever Benefice have appointed Rev’d Dr Robert Rees as Rector. Rob’s service of Induction and Installation will be on 28 September at 7pm at St Mary’s. All are welcome! Please look at the 'Services and events' page (see menu left) for up-to-date information about services at St Margaret's.2023-07-20 updated by ALP.
Please note the change of service times from 3rd April 2022. The normal service time at St Margaret's will be 10:00. Occasionally, this may need to be varied, to suit the schedule of clergy leading our services in combination with services at other churches on the same day. So please check the details for the particular day you are intending to come, on this website.(Posted by ALP on 2022-03-25.)
After thirteen very happy years serving as Rector of the Lower Dever Benefice Mark is leaving to take up a new post a Priest in Charge of Ardeley, Benington, Cottered and Throcking with Walken in St Albans Diocese. After the Patronal Service everyone came together for a picnic lunch in the sun where Roger Keys made a speech summarising the triumphs, achievements and guidance Mark and Sue have given over the years. Roger and Melinda Samms then presented Mark and Sue with a cheque and a framed print of South Wonston artist Alison Pearce’s linocut 'Harvest Sentinels'. We're sorry to see them go but we wish them well and good luck for the future.Photographs of the event and gift can be seen above in the Gallery (top left)
