St Bartholomew’s has a unique history as the church founded in 1110 for the lay workers at Hyde Abbey, where the remains of King Alfred the Great had their final resting place. It is also a place of living community, as a venue for a toddler group, concerts, performances and talks, and living faith, as the parish church for Hyde and Abbotts Barton. Our services are at 10am every Sunday and all are welcome – please see our website for details of all that is happening.
Our parish of St Bartholomew, Hyde, is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Winchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor using the button below. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
