Community

At St. Barnabas we strive to serve our local community, and will often work with partners to do this.  Below are some of the organisations we currently work with:

FOODBANK

Providing emergency food to local people who have been referred to us, as well as support and advice to help people maximise their incomes and lift themselves out of poverty.  Monday and Thursday, 1.30 to 3pm.

FARESHARE

We believe that no good food should go to waste, so we redistribute surplus food to local people who turn it into meals.  You register as a member and pay between £2.50 and £5 (dependent on the size of your household) for £10-15 worth of food. Please email [email protected] for a membership form.  Thursday, 1 to 2.30pm.

SPRING PRESCHOOL

Spring is an independent Pre-School with a bright and engaging indoor space and a large enclosed outdoor area, with dedicated learning areas designed to stimulate all aspects of your child's learning and development.  We also run a breakfast club.  Monday to Thursday, 8am to 4pm, and Friday, 8am to 1pm.

VISION 4 YOUTH

For young people aged 11 to 25 we host and support a Youth Cafe run by the excellent local youth organisation Vision 4 Youth.  It's a great place to come and relax, to socialise and have fun in a safe and supervised environment  You can get a free drink and snack, and you can also find a shoulder to cry on or someone to laugh with. Monday during term-time, 7:30 to 9:00pm and it's free!

CITIZENS ADVICE

People come with all sorts of issues. You may have money, benefits, housing or employment problems, be facing a crisis, or just considering your options.  Our advisers will research your issues and provide information about your options. This will allow you to decide the path for you to take to resolve your issues. They will not tell you what to do but will support you until you are happy to progress your problems for yourself.  1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month, 12 to 1.30pm
