Across cultures and ages, the end of October and the autumn equinox have been times to remember our loved ones, who have died. This is the origin of Halloween, or in the church calendar: All Hallows Eve, which leads into All Saints Day and All Souls Day.

Every year we hold a memorial service around this time and I am writing to invite you to join me in remembering before God your loved ones, as follows:

Sunday 03rd November 2024: 4pm St. Mary’s Church, Bishopswood Road, Tadley

We invite you to come and light a candle, place a message or a photo in memory of anyone you have lost on the altar and join us for a service as we remember them by name.

You are welcome to bring the names of your loved ones to the service, or email them to us in advance. If you can't get to St. Mary’s, you're welcome to email a name or message to [email protected], or if you don't have access to email, then phone the office on 01189 816252.

Do contact us if you have any questions or requests,

God Bless you,
Revd Steve McKay - Rector

St Mary's, Tadley

St Mary's Tadley is a friendly community church serving the whole of Tadley, Baughurst and surrounding areas. We worship in creative, inclusive ways in a central tradition. We seek to serve our community with our excellent facilities and active congregation. We are an inclusive church and welcome all.

Following of relaxing of Covid restrictions we have moved our main services back into our church building in a safe way. We are continuing to broadcast a majority of our services live on line to our Facebook page (St. Mary's Tadley).  Our church is still open for private prayer on Wednesday and Saturdays. We have also built a community labyrinth in our grounds. Come and see what we are like, or contact us if you have any questions or comments.

The parish of Tadley North: St Mary is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Winchester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
