Across cultures and ages, the end of October and the autumn equinox have been times to remember our loved ones, who have died. This is the origin of Halloween, or in the church calendar: All Hallows Eve, which leads into All Saints Day and All Souls Day.
Every year we hold a memorial service around this time and I am writing to invite you to join me in remembering before God your loved ones, as follows:
Sunday 03rd November 2024: 4pm St. Mary’s Church, Bishopswood Road, Tadley
We invite you to come and light a candle, place a message or a photo in memory of anyone you have lost on the altar and join us for a service as we remember them by name.
You are welcome to bring the names of your loved ones to the service, or email them to us in advance. If you can't get to St. Mary’s, you're welcome to email a name or message to [email protected], or if you don't have access to email, then phone the office on 01189 816252.
Do contact us if you have any questions or requests,
God Bless you,
Revd Steve McKay - Rector
