St Mary the Virgin Church marked Harvest in early September, ahead of our Rogation service on October 1st when some of us walked the 7.5 miles of the bounds of our beautiful parish. More recently we were delighted to help the pupils of Sherfield School celebrate Harvest. The children enjoyed learning about how harvesting of the wheat used to take place 500 years ago and singing about fluffy cauliflowers and doing the Harvest Samba! Tins of food brought by the children are to be given to the local Food Bank.St Mary’s Church is thrilled at the recent appointment of Mrs Moir as school head teacher and very much looks forward to a (rather belated) welcome to her as part of our Christingle and Toy service at 10.00 on December 3rd
