This will be a service on Ash Wednesday of Holy Communion incorporating Ashing.
Very informal, relaxed service, using mainly contemporary songs and hymns accompanied by a band, aimed at attracting families but welcoming people of all ages. Children depart for their own activities (Shell Club, JAM) after about 10-15 minutes, while adults remain behind for a normal, full-length Bible-based sermon. Coffee/tea and breakfast pastries freely available from 15 minutes before the service and continuing afterwards. Toddlers and tinies are welcome to remain in the main meeting room regardless of noise levels.

A quiet, reflective service of Holy Communion, according to the Book of Common Prayer (1662). No hymns or music. The sermon is generally a brief version of the main service sermon, in the form of a reflection or meditation on one of the Bible passages read as Epistle or Gospel.

This service is an all Benefice Holy Communion service on the 5th Sunday, when a month contains 5 Sundays. This service alternates between St James in Bramley and St Leonards in Sherfield on Loddon.
