The Church of All Saints Castleford now also comprises of the worshipping communities of All Saints' Hightown, St Michael and All Angels Smawthorne and St Paul the Apostle Glasshoughton, known collectively still as Castleford Team Parish.
There has been a Christian witness and presence in Castleford for well over a thousand years. It is believed that St Augustine and his Monks had introduced the Christian faith here by 597 A.D. Nowadays the life and worship of Castleford Team Parish is centred on the four Churches which constitute the team.
The parish has a Team Rector and a Polish Priest working predominantly, although not exclusively, with the Polish Community. There is a very strong commitment to the life of the Gospel from the parishioners.
The church of Castleford, although standing as a memorial to our rich Christian heritage, now more importantly recognises its need to stand as a vibrant witness to the saving power of Jesus Christ for all people today.
Our services are centred on the Mass and incense is used regularly at the sung services. A team of servers assist at the sung services. Vestments are worn by the clergy.
