About Us
The Church of All Saints Castleford is now also made up of the worshipping communities of All Saints' Hightown, St Paul the Apostle Glasshoughton and St Michael and All Angels Smawthorne (the later three of which are now close to public worship) and is collectively known as Castleford Team Parish.
There has been a Christian witness and presence in Castleford for well over a thousand years. It is believed that St Augustine and his Monks had introduced the Christian faith here by 597 A.D. Nowadays the life and worship of Castleford Team Parish is centred on the Churches which constitute the team.
The parish has a Team Rector and a visiting Polish Vicar who serves, amongst others, the Polish community. There is a very strong commitment to the life of the Gospel from the parishioners.
The churches of Castleford, although standing as a memorial to our rich Christian heritage, now more importantly recognise their need to stand as a vibrant witness to the saving power of Jesus Christ for all people today.
Our services are centred on the Mass and incense is used regularly at the sung services. A team of servers assist at the sung services. Vestments are worn by the clergy.
