A shorter and simpler celebration of Holy of Communion celebrated daily accept on Fridays (unless its a Solemnity/High day). The weekday Masses are split between the two parishes. Mondays and Wednesday's at Staincliffe @12noon. Tuesday@7pm and Thursdays 12noon at Carlinghow Saturday Mass alternates between both Churches @12noon. The Traditional Solemn Midnight Mass, also known as Mass in the Holy Night, is a wonderful celebration that takes place traditionally at midnight on Christmas Eve. (10 pm in Batley!) It's a heartwarming event and the start of the Christmas season, inviting everyone to come together in a spirit of joy to celebrate the birth of Christ. All Welcome!

You'll find traditional hymns, heartfelt prayers, and inspiring readings that reflect the wonderful themes of incarnation and redemption. It's a lovely time to gather and celebrate together!

The Solemn Parish Mass on Sundays

We our two parishes but one community and so we alternate the Sunday Mass between Christ Church Stancliffe and St John's the Evangelist Carlinghow. Please do be intouch or check the notice sheet to see which Church is hosting each Sunday.

The Solemn Mass on Sunday is family friendly, accessible and we welcome everyone to join us worshipping God in the beauty of holiness.

The Parish Mass, is traditional and Catholic, with high ceremonial, incense, bells, plain chant, beautiful vestments, includes a Homily/sermon, prayers, scriptural readings, with the climaxe of the services being the celebration & administration of Holy Communion. The service concludes with the Angelus (or Regina Coeli at Easter). followed by refreshments and nice biscuits!
