Preaching Plan Autumn: A return to Romans: The Gospel of God Paul’s letter to the church in Rome offers us one of the most complete pictures of the gospel and its implications in the New Testament. It is a letter that has changed lives of countless people down through the centuries—from the architect of Western theology St. Augustine in the 5th Century to the father of the Reformation, Martin Luther, in the 16th Century, from the brilliant 18th Century British evangelist John Wesley to modern day American pastor John Piper. Theologian Scot McKnight writes: “Romans is about theology, but it isn’t mere theology—it isn’t abstract theology. If you will, the theology of Romans is about a way of life, about lived theology.” 7th September: Chameleon or Contrast: Romans 12:1-2 14th September: Many, But One Body: Romans 12:3-8 21st September: Life in the Christian Community: Romans 12:9-21 28th September: Tearfund: 5th October: Harvest: 12th October: Church and State: Romans 13:1-7 19th October: Living in the Light: Romans 13:8-14 26th October: The Weak and the Strong: Romans 14 2nd November: Unity the Jesus Way: Romans 15:1-13 9th November: Paul’s Ministry: Romans 15:14-33 16th November: Safe Guarding 23rd November: To God be the Glory: Romans 16: 1-27
Cornerstone Prayer We want to be a church that prays dependently—that makes prayer the cornerstone of all that we are and all that we do. We believe that God wants to bring renewal to our lives, our town, our nation and our world, and that renewal comes when we seek God’s face in prayer. Please join us every Monday morning at 9.30am (term-time only) in the main hall of the parish centre for an informal time of Bible reading, discussion and prayer for renewal.
Church and Online Sunday ServicesA recording of the bible reading and sermon from each Sunday service can be found via the church web page.Sunday services are at 10am
