About Us

Christ Church is a warm, lively and active all-age Christian community located south of Ossett town centre.  We are a Word-and-Spirit community, seeking to love Jesus, learn Jesus and love Jesus.  We would love to welcome you to worship with us.

We meet to worship at 10am each Sunday, sharing Communion together every other week.  Our children's groups meet during the service (Explorers – for children in Reception to Year 2 and Discoverers – for children in Year 3 to Year 6), except for the first Sunday of the month when we all come together for All-In Worship.

We exist to be and to make disciples who love Jesus as their greatest treasure, learn Jesus as their way of life, and live Jesus for the renewal of the world.

1. Worships Joyfully

We make it our first priority to know God, to enjoy His presence, and to express our love for Him with all that we are and all that we do.  Psalm 27; Psalm 100; Matthew 13:44-46; John 4:1-26

2. Prays Dependently

We want to be a people of prayer, who trust in God for everything and know that they can do nothing apart from Him.  Exodus 17:8-15; Psalm 127; Philippians 4:6

3. Lives Radically

We want to be people who are all-in on Jesus, learning to live His way at all times, in all places, and in every area of our lives.  Matthew 11:25-30; John 15:1-17; Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 3:14-21

4. Loves Extravagantly

We believe that to be church is to be part of God’s family, therefore we want our life together to reflect His love for us and our unity in Jesus.  Mark 3:20-35; Acts 2:38-48; 1 Corinthians 12:12-31

5. Thinks Biblically

We want to be people who think and speak and act distinctively because of who we are in Jesus—learning to live His story in our daily lives.  John 17:6-19; Romans 12:1-2; 1 John 2:15-16

6. Gives Sacrificially

As Jesus came among us as the Servant King, so we too want to joyfully, generously and sacrificially give ourselves away for the sake of others.  Mark 10:35-45; John 13:1-17; Philippians 2:5-11

7. Witnesses Organically

We want our lives to speak of Jesus to the world—embodying His authentic, attractive and compelling vision of what it means to be human.  Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 4:1-21; 1 Peter 4:1-6
