Local groups are banding together to have a concerted attempt in cleaning up certain parts of Ravensthorpe in a Day of Action. "Work off that Coronation Quiche with a bit of gentle litter-picking and make Ravensthorpe look smarter to boot" says Fr George, Honorary Treasurer of Ravensthorpe in Bloom. "We are hoping residents will make an effort to tidy up outside their properties."
We are also targetting the pocket park at the top of Calder Road where it joins Huddersfield Road and Calder Road at that point, including the back alley, which could be really nice with some planters in due course. We also want to clean up North Road around Diamond Wood Academy and Clarkson St where some keen gardeners have been spotted.
Ravensthorpe in Bloom has a five year Action Plan to improve the public areas of Ravensthorpe and generate some pride in the place. We work in partnership with Ravensthorpe Residents Action Group and the Stronger Together Foundation with support from Kirklees Council.
