Welcome to the United Benefice of Christ Church Stancliffe and St John's the Evangelist in Carlinghow. We are a welcoming, friendly, and social community of Christians located in Batley, West Yorkshire, within the Diocese of Leeds. We are affiliated with the Society and are under the episcopal oversight of the Bishop of Beverley. A priest from the Society of the Holy Cross also serves our parish. We proudly uphold the Catholic tradition of the Church of England and celebrate Mass daily within the Benefice. Our worship is characterized by high church practices, including rich ceremonial elements, beautiful vestments, incense, bells, traditional hymns, and plainchant. We also hold a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and all the Saints. Everyone is welcome to attend our services and events. Volunteers are needed at Christ Church to assist with counting money. Both parishes also require more servers, readers, and intercessors. If you are able to help, please come forward, including on weekdays and Sundays.
