Advent Course

Occuring
Every Thursday at for 1 hour, 30 mins
Venue
St James the Great
Address
Church Lane Chapelthorpe Wakefield, WF4 3JG, United Kingdom

This years Advent Course is titled "God with Us.'

All are welcome to attend this relaxed and informal course, where we discuss different aspects of Jesus the Messiah and how he was foretold.

The course continues for the following two Thursdays, each session is complete in itself. So if you miss one you can always attend the others.

Throughout Advent the traditional Lectionary readings take us on a journey from the Old Testament to the New, revealing passages from prophets of old who talk of a future king coming from the line of David who will be anointed to be king of God’s kingdom, and rule the nation during a Messianic Age.
This course looks at several ways in which the Bible reveals to us the person of Jesus and his Messianic role, both through prophesy and the personal testimony of those who walked with him, or like Paul, had their lives turned around by a spiritual encounter with Jesus.

St James the Great

We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
