The First Eucharist of Easter with Vigil and Renewal of Baptismal Vows

Occurring
for 2 hours
Venue
The Parish Church of St Peter's Woolley
Address
The Parish Church of St Peter's Woolley, Church Street Woolley Wakefield, WF4 2JU

All are welcome to come to this very special and ancient service.

We begin with a fire outside of church, the Easter candle is lit from the fire and then carried into a dark church. Members of the congregation follow the light representing The Light of Christ into church.

During the service congregations will light their own candles and when we start the vigil, they are encouraged to make as much noise as possible - celebrating the Risen Christ!

It is a very moving and visual service - dark and the light. If you haven't been to it before, come an experience something that is different to any other service in the worldwide Church.

St James the Great

"The parish of Chapelthorpe: St James is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services."
