This Lent we will be supporting a number of different charities at St. Peter's.
We will be supporting St George's Crypt this Lent by taking part in their new 40/40 challenge. Collect 40 items (it can be clothing, tinned food, homeware you've been wanting to get rid of) - one for each day of Lent - and by Easter you'll have a fantastic bag full of donations that will go straight to helping the service users at the Crypt! If you want to help out, but don’t have any items to donate? How about saving £1 a day in Lent and by Easter you would have a £40 donation. A donation of £40 would help provide meals, clothing and beds for those in the city who most need it. Get involved! Grab a bag - and put one item you're happy to part with in there every day for the next 40 days and you will change lives without even realising it. This year's Smartie tube collection will be in aid of 2 different charities. The Diocese of Sudan has been living with civil war and unrest since 2023, and yet is overlooked by the news. For further information see our "Information About Lent" notice sheet in the News and Notices section or click here. Leeds Autism Services are a local charity working with people who are neurodiverse with conditions such as ASC (autism spectrum condition), dyslexia and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). As well as these charities we will continue to collect items for the Food Bank. If you would like to donate, there is a container in the porch of the Vicarage which is emptied regularly. Non-perishable items only please.
