On Saturday 22nd June, the Curate of the Benefice of Drighlington and Gildersome was ordained at Leeds Minster. Rev. Devise Brogden has been with us since July last year and has been a real blessing to the two churches. In a very moving ceremony, presided over by Bishop Chris Edmondson, Denise was given the authority to now give communion, bestow blessings and to move onto the next phase of her training. Three other trainees were also ordained. A large number of clergy involved in their journey so far were also in attendance and formed part of the procession before the service. Following the event, people were invited to stay for refreshments, cakes and fellowship. We all look forward to Denise’s continued involvement with the two churches, and are excited to see what the Lord has in store for her in the future.
