My dear brothers and sisters.
It is my deepest prayer this year, that everyone in both our churches, will take seriously the season of Lent and Holy Week.
That they will make all that the church celebrates a priority for the spiritual welfare and development of your souls, as we unite our lives with the saving work of Jesus Christ.
He, for our sake, suffered so much and died in excruciating agony on the Cross, that we might not experience endless death, but live with Him, the Resurrection Life, in all its glorious abundance.
Through our baptisms, we already share that eternal life, so our thank you to Him is to be with Him, as we celebrate all Christ has done for us.
I would love especially to see the commitment to the 'Triduum', the great three days of Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday, grow in number from last year. It's all about priorities.
I pray that your priorities are with the God who created you, who redeemed you for eternity with his own blood on the Cross, and who fills your life now with the abundant blessings of grace, through the workings of the Holy Spirit.
With my prayers and blessings for a Holy and wholesome Lent, and a deepening love for Jesus in his Passion, Life gibing death and Resurrection.
Your friend and Parish Priest,
Fr Peter Needham SSC.
