About Us

St Paul's Church in Old Town is part of the parish of St Mary the Virgin, Barnsley.  The building has stood since the 1930s and has been central to Old Town life since then - and even before when a smaller mission church was in use.  Everybody is welcome to attend and join our church community and we would be delighted to welcome you for a family celebration or commemoration.  

The parish of Barnsley St Mary is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Leeds’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs.
