We are delighted to share that the All Hallows' Churchyard has won the Green Flag Award for the 16th year in a row.
Situated in the middle of the village is one of the largest churchyards and green spaces in the district that has been transformed from an overgrown wilderness over the past 16 years by a dedicated small team of volunteers. The area is now a haven for wildlife, grasses and wild flowers whilst maintaining the quiet and dignity of the area. There is still much to be achieved in this green space but visitors can now sit and walk through the churchyards and enjoy the peace and tranquillity. In addition families can now find ancestors graves using our website and plans provided by the team in what was a wilderness in 1999. To find a grave, check out our dedicated website: https://kirkburton.burialgrounds.co.uk
Congratulations to our hardworking and dedicated team of volunteers! This accolade is much deserved!
