St John's Church, Upperthong, is located a short walk up the hill from the town of Holmfirth, in the Holme Valley. St John's shares worship with the churches of Holmfirth and Hepworth, with services alternating week by week in the different parishes.

St John's is part of the Upper Holme Valley Team of churches in the Diocese of Leeds. The Team Vicar is the Reverend Keith Griffin, who can be contacted for any enquiries.
