About Us
A warm welcome is assured for visitors to St Paul's situated in the village of Armitage Bridge. It has a reputation for being a friendly and sociable church.
Set in a beautiful and peacefulchurchyard, St Paul’s church is an attractive mixture of old and new. Built in 1848 it was reconstructed following a major fire in 1987 so that the traditional exterior now houses a more modern and versatile space for worship and a variety of other activities.
Our congregation (around 35) also crosses the generations and young and old share in our worship, experiencing a blend of formal and informal styles. Within the life of the church there is opportunity for everyone to utilise their skills and talents and also to enjoy social fellowship.
In contrast the church is often used for quiet days where reflection is possible within a calm and relaxing environment.
Joint services with St John's at Newsome and Holy Trinity at South Crosland (the other two churches in our Benefice) are held once a month. United Services are occasionally held with our local Methodist Churches and a variety of events are organised through our Local Ecumenical Partnership.
We hope you will come and see the church for yourself and feel drawn to God’s love.
