About Us
St. Peter’s church part of the United Benefice of Todmorden with Cornholme and Walsden.
Our church is at the centre of village life in Walsden and very much a special place in the hearts of the local community. We have been a place of worship in the South Pennine’s since 1845.
Our normal pattern of worship is currently suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic. When we return we will have:
🔹 Our main Sunday service. The format of this service may vary in style or approach depending on the activity or event being held. You might find a family communion service, standard Eucharist, cafe church or messy church. The one thing you can be sure of each week, is each service is followed by time to chat with friendly people and great tea, coffee and biscuits.
We have a happy and friendly congregation with positive relationships with our local community, businesses and schools.
🔹 Parents and Toddlers utilise the church each week on a Monday, where all parents, carers and early years children (aged 0-5) are welcome.
Our Vicar is Reverend John Jukes (MA). John joined the benefice in September 2019. Our parish is also supported by several retired priests, lay ministry and volunteers.
We welcome people for baptism and wedding ceremonies. Please contact us where we can arrange a special session for you to meet with some of the ministry team and book your special day.
If you would like to hold your event or meeting in our church , please do not hesitate to contact us.
