About Us
St. Mary's church part of the United Benefice of Todmorden with Cornholme and Walsden.
Our church is at the very heart of the town and has been a centre for Christian worship for over 500 years.
We continue to be a hub for local events, activities and worship. We are a place where all of humanity, all of the community can gather together. We are a very diverse church and our diversity and inclusivity are at the heart of our personal values. We welcome everyone who wishes to participate in any of our services or events.
🔹 Our main Sunday service with hymns is at 11:00am and is a family friendly service followed by tea, coffee and biscuits.
🔸 Our popular Sunday School is also accessible for children aged 3-10 years. This takes place within the main body of the church, where children are within sight and supported by our helpers.
Our Vicar is Reverend John Jukes (MA). John joined the benefice in September 2019. Our parish is also supported by several retired priests, lay ministry and volunteers.
We are proud to support local charities, friendship groups and community events, who choose our church as a venue for their community meetings and services.
🔹 Todmorden Food Drop-in is held every Saturday morning 09:30am - 12noon
🔸 Todmorden Independent Living and Nightlife utilise our crypt facilities twice weekly
🔹 An over 60s friendship group, uses the crypt to facilitate their weekly Monday meeting
