Church Groups
St Michael’s is blessed with a variety of groups that bring people together in fellowship, creativity, and service. Whether you enjoy music, drama, or simply sharing friendship, there is a place for you here.
Choir and Music
Our choir sings hymns and anthems in four‑part harmony and welcomes members of all ages. They enrich our worship each Sunday and also put on concerts throughout the year. From time to time, the choir travels to other churches to sing Evensong, sharing their music more widely.
We are always delighted to welcome new members. Whether you are an experienced singer or simply enjoy music, you’ll find encouragement, friendship, and joy in joining the choir.
Bellringers
The sound of bells has long been part of the life of St Michael’s. Our bellringers ring for Sunday services, weddings, and special occasions, keeping alive a wonderful tradition that combines skill, teamwork, and rhythm.
Practice takes place every Thursday evening from 6.00–7.30pm, and new ringers are warmly invited to come along. No prior experience is needed — just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
The Guild
The Guild offers fellowship and friendship, meeting monthly in the Erringden Room. It is a space for women to share conversation, encouragement, and community.
The Wives Group
Founded in 1969, the Wives Group continues to thrive today. It meets monthly, with guest speakers, outings, and social events. Membership is open to all women, and newcomers are warmly welcomed.
Brew
Every Monday at 10am, the Erringden Room hosts a regular coffee morning. It’s a relaxed and friendly time to share conversation over a cup of tea or coffee, and a lovely way to start the week together.
St Michael’s Amateurs
Mytholmroyd St Michael’s Amateurs (MSMA) is our long‑standing drama society, dedicated to staging high‑quality musicals, plays, and concerts in the church hall. With a proud tradition of performance dating back decades, MSMA brings together people of all ages to share in creativity, community, and the joy of theatre. Past productions have ranged from classic musicals to modern shows, and continue to be a highlight of the local calendar.

SMAJIC (St Michael’s Amateurs Juniors in Concert) is the junior section of MSMA. It is open to children and young people from Key Stage 2 (Year 3) through to 18 years old. SMAJIC provides opportunities to take part in drama, music, and performance, often working alongside the adult society in productions. It helps young performers build confidence, develop skills, and discover the fun of being on stage, while being part of the wider St Michael’s family.
