New Purple Altar Frontal Donated in Memory of Lifelong Church Members

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a beautiful new purple altar frontal at Christ Church, generously donated in loving memory of Brenda Dyson and Margaret Pickles, both lifelong members of our congregation and the Christ Church Mothers Union. Brenda and Margaret were not only devoted members of the church but also former members of the church choir, and their dedication to the church has been cherished by all who knew them.

This new altar frontal replaces one that has served us faithfully for over 100 years but had begun to show signs of age. The vibrant new frontal will now be used during our Advent and Lent services, providing a fitting tribute to the enduring faith and service of Brenda and Margaret.

Peter Henry, Churchwarden at Christ Church, shared his thoughts on this special gift:
"This new altar frontal is a wonderful tribute to Brenda and Margaret, two people who gave so much to our church. It’s fitting that their memory will continue to be part of our worship and that their legacy will live on in this beautiful piece, which enhances the sacred space of our church."

We are honoured to welcome The Ven. Bill Braviner, Archdeacon of Halifax, who will dedicate and bless the new altar frontal as part of our Service of Nine Lessons and Carols on Thursday, 19th December, starting at 7.30pm. This service will be a special moment in our church calendar, and we invite everyone to join us for this wonderful evening of celebration, reflection, and worship.

The memory of Brenda and Margaret will continue to live on in this special gift, reminding us all of the strength of faith and community that Christ Church represents.

Please join us for this memorable event and share in the dedication of the new altar frontal as we prepare to celebrate the Christmas season together.
