Today marks a significant milestone in the life of Christ Church as we celebrate the first anniversary of Revd Tommy’s installation as Priest in Charge. Over the past year, Revd Tommy has not only brought fresh energy and enthusiasm to our parish but has also introduced a range of new activities and initiatives that have enriched our community life and deepened our spiritual journey.
From the moment he arrived, Revd Tommy has been dedicated to making Christ Church a welcoming and vibrant place for everyone. Under his leadership, we’ve seen the introduction of several new programs, each designed to bring our community closer together and offer something for everyone.
New Initiatives and Growing Community
One of the standout initiatives has been the introduction of Film Night, which has quickly become a popular event, offering a fun and relaxed way for people of all ages to come together. Messy Church has also been a great success, providing an informal and creative space for families to explore faith through crafts, games, and storytelling. Our All Age Worship services have brought new life to our Sunday gatherings, making them more inclusive and engaging for the whole family.
In addition, Revd Tommy has established a Knit and Natter group, offering a cozy and friendly environment for those who enjoy knitting and chatting. This group has become a wonderful place for fellowship and connection. The Bible Study sessions he leads have also grown in popularity, providing a deeper understanding of scripture and a stronger sense of community among participants. And for those who enjoy the great outdoors, the newly formed Walking Group offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy nature, exercise, and fellowship all at once.
Thanks to these initiatives, we’ve seen our congregation grow, with more children and families attending regularly. The church is once again buzzing with activity, and the joy and warmth that Revd Tommy and his family have brought to our parish are palpable.
Building Relationships with Schools
Revd Tommy has also made significant strides in building relationships with the local schools in our parish. His regular visits and involvement in school activities have helped to strengthen the bond between the church and the wider community, ensuring that Christ Church continues to play a vital role in the lives of young people and their families.
A Family Affair
We are also incredibly blessed to have Revd Tommy’s family as part of our church community. His wife, Donna, and their daughters, Tabitha and Mai, have been a constant source of support and joy. They have fully embraced life at Christ Church, participating in many of the activities and becoming beloved members of our church family.
As we look back on this past year, we are filled with gratitude for all that Revd Tommy has brought to our parish. His leadership, compassion, and vision have not only revitalized our church but have also helped to build a stronger, more connected community. We look forward to many more years of growth and fellowship under his guidance.
Here’s to a wonderful first year, and many more to come!
