Cafe Church Christingle Service

Occurring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
St Thomas
Address
Main Street Aslockton Nottingham, NG13 9AL, United Kingdom

Free bacon cobs and hot drinks from 10.30am with Christingle Service starting at 11am
Christingles are homemade using oranges and a few other bits, as you choose. Each element of a Christingle has a special meaning and helps to tell the Christian story:
■ The orange represents the world
■ The red ribbon (or tape) symbolises the love and blood of Christ
■ The sweets and dried fruit represent all of God’s creations
■ The lit candle represents Jesus’s light in the world, bringing hope to people living in darkness.
During the service, each person takes a Christingle and the candles are all lit to create a warm glow.
This symbolises the light of Christ and bringing hope to people living in darkness. It really is a special moment, and is usually one of the highlights of the celebration.
