About Us

St Peter’s Ravenshead is a modern parish dating back 60 years, with a church of unusual design built in the heart of the village 50 years ago, on Sheepwalk Lane. You will find a warm welcome here and a sense of the presence of God.  At St. Peter’s we hold a variety of services including both traditional services with robed choir and organ and modern, participatory services and a music group. We work in partnership with Newstead Abbey Chapel.  This is the former chapter house of the Abbey, in which we hold traditional services, using the Book of Common Prayer liturgies.  All are welcome to attend – tell the staff at the gate that you’re going to the chapel and they will wave you in without payment. You may park in the public car park and walk down to the Abbey.  Go round the Abbey on the right hand side then bear left along the rear and you’ll reach the entrance to the cloister and chapel.
