Our fun-filled, family friendly, interactive Christmas Eve Crib Service St Edmund’s is a great way to take a breather from the hustle and bustle of Christmas preparations to take time to remember the true story of Christmas. The young and young at heart are welcome to join in the fun. Come along dressed as a nativity character or borrow one of ours (and find out what the vicar, Andrew, will come dressed as this year!)

11.30pm on Christmas Eve marks our annual service of Midnight Mass in St Edmund’s.
An offering will be taken during the service in aid of the work of Christian Aid throughout the world.

On Christmas Day we will share in and informal All Age Christmas Celebration with communion.
The work of Christian Aid will be supported through our offerings at this service.

Join us for a 10.30am Celebration on Sunday December 29th:
A great way to give thanks to God for His blessings in the past year and look forward in hope and excitement to all that God has in store for us in 2025.

Our Holy Communion service is formal and uses Church of England liturgy. Throughout the service there are hymns accompanied by our organist and choir

We have an open table where all who love Jesus are welcome to join us.
We use bread rather than wafers and non-alcoholic communion wine is available in individual cups as well as wine in the traditional chalice. (Gluten free wafers are available. Please speak to a Welcomer or churchwarden before the service)

Refreshments are available after the service in The Stable Centre, with a chance to chat and catch up with others

Our Alight service is contemporary in style and follows a format beginning with an extended time of sung worship and prayer, looking at the bible, leading us into a time of reflection and prayer ministry

Our desire is to experience the presence of God through the Holy Spirit as we worship, to engage with Him and to allow Him to go on transforming our lives.

During the service there will be opportunity for young people of school years 1-6 to meet separately in the tower room led by our young people’s leaders. We also have a cosy corner near the back with toys and books which parents with pre-school children can use throughout the service if they wish. However we love having the kids around us joining in!

There are refreshments served in the Stable Centre between the services so please do come and grab a tea or coffee before the service, chat to others from the 9.30 service and then bring your drinks with you over to the church where there will be top-ups available during the service

Alight will run weekly starting on the 8th September at 11.30am

Morning Praise is an informal, interactive All Age service of praise and worship planned and led by the church family using Roots resources.

If you're curious about church life and considering your faith journey then this service may be perfect for you.
It is a more relaxed worship time when we are accompanied by our small worship band and the church family take part together. Children are welcome and encouraged to take part.
All this may help if you're worried about the formality that can come with some church services.
