St Simon & St Jude
Welcome to our churches in Blidworth and Rainworth which work together to love and serve God and our communities.
Our vicar is Revd Zoe Burton
Along with our vicar, we seek to offer a safe space for people to meet with God as well as find their home within God’s family. Whether you consider yourself to have no faith or you are new to faith or have been a Christian for a long time, we invite you all to come and experience God’s love for you!
The usual Sunday services, at St Simon and St Jude, start 10.30am and alternate between Morning Worship (1st & 3rd Sunday of the month) and Holy Communion (2nd & 4th Sunday of the month). On 5th Sundays of the month, we come together with the Blidworth congregation for a group Holy Communion - check out the calendar for which church building. We host services online: a weekly Zoom Sunday service usually starts at 10.30am. All are welcome to join us in our church building or online - for all online services on Zoom, please email [email protected] for a Zoom link.
The church is active in prayer and worship, supporting families through Life Event services: funerals, weddings and christenings; in pastoral care, the foodshare projects: supporting and meeting needs and partnership with other organisations in our communities. We host a toddler group at St Andrews Mission Hall, the Crescent in Blidworth - this runs during Term-Time on Thursday morning between 9am - 11am. We also host a friendship group especially for those suffering with dementia and those who care for them. This group usually meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month between 2-4pm at St Simon and St Jude's - check the calendar to confirm each month.
Coffee Shop is open for coffee (or tea), cake (or sausage/bacon cobs on the 1st Saturday of each month) and for conversation and friendship. It runs on alternate 2nd and 4th Fridays and every Saturday between 10am - 12 noon.
The Church is available every Saturday between 10am-12 noon for quiet reflection, space to still & pray and/or light a candle.
If you would like to give a donation or you are new to our online services or have been joining us for a while and are enjoying our online services and would like to give for our ongoing work in serving our communities for many generations to come, you will see below that you can now give online.
