We will gather to remember those who have died or been wounded in war and conflict, honour their service and sacrifice made, as well as praying for peace. We will then walk to the Askern Memorial and continue in prayer - including the 2 minute silence.

O God of truth and justice,
we hold before you those people
who have been injured or who have died in active service.
As we honour their courage and cherish their memory,
may we put our faith in your future;
for you are the source of life, peace and hope,
now and forever. Amen.

Safeguarding

St Peter's Church Askern is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Stella Mathers.

Our Diocese of Sheffield’s safeguarding pages contain vital information (see link below) including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO.

If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact our PSO (email [email protected]), our wardens or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor.

If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services.
