John & Naomi Marples, our Focal Ministers, led today’s Service. Johns talk was aimed at people of all ages and based around Acts1 and the appointment of Matthias as the new disciple. Peter said the main requirement for the “job” of 12th disciple was to have been with Jesus from the start.  John cleverly linked this analogy with a comparison to a football team and what you would ask for in a new player.  It was great to see he chose a Sheffield Wednesday scarf to wear (sorry Rev Dan Brown 😂). John gained good interaction with the congregation and the whole service was extremely pleasurable, with some great hymns.  Thank you so much to Naomi who also stood in as organist today at very short notice.  She certainly got her exercise steps in!
