Tom Hutchinson - Principal Cornet of the Cory Band: Concert

Occurring
for 2 hours
Venue
St Andrew's Psalter Lane Church
Address
31 Psalter Lane Sheffield, S11 8YL, United Kingdom

We feel incredibly lucky to be welcoming Tom Hutchinson back to his home city as part of the St Andrew's Music Festival. Tom began learning the cornet at the age of nine and his ensuing career in brass bands, including the world famous Black Dyke Brass Band, has brought many awards. Now, as well as playing principal cornet with the Cory Band, he is a Professor of Cornet at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Following his public masterclass this afternoon, this evening we get the chance to hear from Tom himself with his performance featuring showpieces such as Monti's Czardas and Carmen Fantasie. The performance will also feature local ensemble Endcliffe Brass which brings together several Sheffield brass players, many of whom perform with the Endcliffe Orchestra.

Tickets £6.00 in advance from www.sheffieldartsstudio.co.uk (on sale from 1st November) or £8.00 on the door.

A St Andrew's Music Festival event. Refreshments will be available.
