Our Building
The church is open during daylight hours throughout the year. There is also a Silent Prayer meeting each Thursday, 6.30-7pm.
Music and Worship
Our six bells are rung on high days and holidays, providing our small team of ringers can be supplemented by other willing volunteers. If you are interested in bell ringing please do send us a message via the Contact page, or direct to [email protected].
Occasional concerts are held in the church. 2025 is our 900th anniversary - look out for notices of events on this website and/or via our weekly news sheet (see News Sheet page)
We are so fortunate with our regular organist, who often nourishes us with a little extra musical treat at the end of Parish Communion!
8.30am Holy Communion, said, is celebrated on the first and third Sundays of the month.
Our volunteer choir supports the singing at Parish Communion (on the second and fourth Sundays of the month, and at Benefice Communion when it is held (alternating with St Peter's in High Cross) on the fifth Sunday).

Help for Visitors
A noticeboard crafted by the local, renowned Barnsley workshop, to the left as you enter the inner door, has a variety of guides and information notices. Of particular note is the Whistler window in the South wall, our beautiful kneelers (books for sale - see the noticeboard), and our association with war poet Edward Thomas.
Daily, during daylight hours.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome at all times.
Other Features
There is a basket at the back of the church if you would like to leave a donation. Only dried, tinned, packeted, jarred goods please; no chilled/frozen or home-made produce.
