St Andrew's is a Grade II* and an excellent example of Early English architecture. Built in 1230 it has some similarities in its design to the Great Hall in Winchester. The roof and aisles were raised in 18th century and the 15th century tower was raised in the early 20th century.
Refurbishment in 2013 introduced modern facilities. Early 20th century women artists, Mary Lowndes and Mary Seton Watts, provided a "gem of a window" for the Memorial Chapel and the large and complex Lawrence monument in the churchyard, respectively.
