The Easter Vigil, also called the Paschal Vigil or the Great Vigil of Easter, is a liturgy held in Christian churches and is our first official celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus. It is held at 7pm and is the first celebration of Easter.

The Good Shepherd

The church was built in 1892 by the architect Temple Lushington Moore.[1] Its distinctive feature is the twin aisled nave with the single aisle chancel. The stained glass windows were designed by Francis Skeat in the mid 20th-century.[2]

The church is located on Sandown Road, Lake and has a splendid small three manual pipe organ by J. W. Walker & Sons Ltd dating from 1901. A specification of the organ can be found on the National Pipe Organ Register

The Parish, which is part of a Benefice with St Saviour-on-the-Cliff, Shanklin, is within the Catholic tradition of the Church of England, and as a member of the Society of St WIlfrid and St Hilda, under the episcopal care of the Bishop of Richborough. Our patron is our Diocesan Bishop, Bishop Rt Rev Dr Jonathan Frost, the Bishop of Portsmouth.

We are currently in Vacancy so celebrate alternate Sunday Mass at 1030 with St Saviours and have morning prayer service the other week.
